BSR DIN Rail RTD Temperature Transmitter
The BSR DIN rail temperature transmitter is specifically engineered for PT100 and Cu50 resistance temperature detectors (RTDs). In industrial automation, accurately capturing temperature variations is critical for process control. By focusing exclusively on RTD inputs, this transmitter clearly separates resistance measurement from thermocouple applications, significantly reducing the risk of incorrect model selection during procurement and installation.
The module effectively measures the subtle resistance changes of the connected sensor and converts them into standardized, isolated analog signals that are directly compatible with PLCs, DCS systems, or local display instruments. This dedicated design not only provides a straightforward interface for common industrial temperature sensors but also ensures consistent cabinet wiring.
One of the inherent challenges with RTD sensors is their slight non-linear behavior across wide temperature ranges. The BSR temperature transmitter addresses this by incorporating advanced active linearized bridge compensation technology. Since an RTD output is a resistance value rather than a ready-to-use current or voltage signal, precise linearization is required before the receiving control system can interpret the temperature changes accurately.
The internal bridge-processing stage actively corrects the sensor's response curve, converting it into a highly consistent and proportional standard output across the entire selected measurement range. This critical feature provides the PLC or monitoring meter with a much clearer and more accurate temperature trend, significantly reducing signal distortion.
Modern control cabinets often face strict space limitations, making efficient signal integration essential. The BSR RTD temperature transmitter is available in versatile configurations, including 1-in/1-out, 1-in/2-out, and 2-in/2-out structures, designed specifically for centralized temperature monitoring. The 1-in/2-out model is particularly valuable when a single temperature measurement point needs to be shared simultaneously between two independent receiving devices, such as a main PLC and a local display meter, eliminating the need for an extra signal splitter.
Alternatively, the 2-in/2-out configuration allows two separate RTD inputs to be processed within a single, compact module housing. This high-density design drastically reduces the total number of individual converters required in multi-point control panels.
