QDGY80A 80GHz Radar Level Meter
QDGY80A uses 76–81GHz FMCW radar for non-contact level measurement in dust, solids, high-temperature conditions and complex vessels. The high-frequency radar signal is transmitted from the top of the silo or tank and reflected by the material surface, so the sensor does not need to touch the medium. This is useful where contact probes may be affected by buildup, abrasion or difficult process conditions. The radar method supports continuous level data in demanding storage applications and provides a practical solution for both liquid level and solid-material level monitoring.
The narrow beam angle of QDGY80A concentrates the radar signal on the material surface and reduces influence from tank walls, feed inlets and internal structures. In vessels with ladders, support members or uneven geometry, a wide beam can receive unwanted reflections that interfere with level detection. A narrower measuring path makes sensor placement more flexible and helps avoid nearby obstacles. This improves measurement reliability in complex containers and gives installers a clearer way to aim the radar toward the intended target area.
QDGY80A supports long-distance, non-contact level monitoring for tall silos and large tanks. Mounted at the top of the vessel, it measures the distance to the material surface without cables or probes extending through the stored medium. This reduces mechanical wear and avoids direct contact with difficult liquids or bulk solids. The long measuring capability is suitable for large storage structures where manual inspection is inconvenient, providing remote level information for inventory management, process control and high- or low-level alarm functions.
